Browser Geolocation vs IP Location
Compare what your browser's geolocation reports with your IP's location — distance, timezone match and spoofing signals. Free, no signup.
Your browser will share precise coordinates after you grant permission; your IP only says city-level. Sites cross-check the two — so should you.
Location is part of every identity
Antybrowser profiles keep location signals consistent: the proxy sets the IP location, and the profile's timezone, locale and geolocation behavior match it. Mismatches like the one above are what link accounts together.
How it works
1. Browser coordinates
With your permission, the browser reports its position via the standard Geolocation API (Wi-Fi/cell/GPS based).
2. IP location truth
Your public IP is resolved against IP intelligence for city-level coordinates and timezone.
3. Comparison
The distance between the two is computed, timezones are compared, and any mismatch is flagged as a spoofing signal.
Frequently asked questions
How does browser geolocation differ from IP geolocation?
The browser's Geolocation API uses Wi-Fi access points, cell towers and sometimes GPS — accurate to tens of meters. IP geolocation only knows the city your IP belongs to, accurate to kilometers. Comparing the two reveals whether they agree about where you are.
What does a large distance between the two mean?
If your browser reports coordinates hundreds of kilometers from your IP's location, your traffic is probably exiting somewhere else — a VPN, proxy or Tor. That mismatch is one of the signals anti-fraud systems use to flag accounts.
Why do I have to grant location permission?
Browsers only reveal coordinates after an explicit per-site permission prompt — that's the privacy default. You can deny it: the tool then reports the denial honestly, which is itself how most visitors behave.
What about timezone?
The tool also compares your browser's timezone with your IP's timezone. A mismatch (browser in New York, IP in London) is a strong spoofing indicator — sites check it constantly.
Do you store my coordinates?
Only inside the 30-day report you can share — keyed by a salted IP hash. Nothing is linked to your identity, and the raw IP address is never stored.
